Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg reveals how she really felt about Antonin Scalia

When it came to ideology, two people could not have been further apart than Justices Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

However, even though Scalia wrote some scathing words about Ginsburg’s opinions, she recently revealed she had quite the soft spot for Justice Scalia during her career with him, largely because of his sense of humor.

Not Taking the Bait

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an icon for liberals old and young alike. She has been on the Supreme Court for decades and despite her small physical stature, she has never cowed to conservatives or her fellow justices.

In fact, some of her dissenting opinions are scathing criticisms of the conservative majority decision.

Likewise, when someone like Justice Scalia was on the wrong end of the vote, he would be extremely critical of Ginsburg and her fellow liberal justices for their decision. It was never personal, however, just business as usual on the Supreme Court.

Those words, though, had the liberal media believing Justice Ginsburg would provide them with fodder to attack conservatives on the bench, but that has never happened and probably never will.

Odd Friends

There may not have been a stranger picture than Justices Scalia and Ginsburg attending the opera together, but that is exactly what happened.

Considering the barbs these two exchanged over the years, Ginsburg was asked if that made things uncomfortable with Scalia, and Ginsburg’s response just about floored everyone.

Ginsburg has definitely overstepped her boundaries a few times with regard to President Trump, but she quickly recanted her statement, agreeing that it was a major mistake to get political as a justice.

From that point forward, however, she has been the epitome of class when discussing past and present justices. Ginsburg recently stunned liberals during an interview about Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Considering the allegations against him and the fact Trump nominated him, most liberals thought she would tear into Kavanaugh given the chance, but she did not.

In fact, Ginsburg stated the new justice was “very decent, very smart.”  She was also enthused about the fact the Kavanaugh’s clerking staff are all women, something no other justice had ever done.

We may not agree with her ideology or most of her opinions, but Justice Ginsburg has shown nothing but class during a time when it would have been very easy for her to add to the divisive voice of liberals today.
