Fox News’ Judge Napolitano calls sexual assault allegations ‘completely false’

In the latest public accusation of sexual misconduct impacting the cable news industry, allegations dropped this week against Fox News Channel’s Judge Andrew Napolitano.

The popular on-air legal analyst was quick to respond to the claims, calling them “completely false” in a statement echoed by his employer, as reported by the New York Daily News.

“He will fight them aggressively in court”

Fox News appears to be standing by Napolitano against the assertions of a man who appeared in his court decades ago on charges of arson.

“These accusations are completely false,” he said. “Full stop. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes, at any time, to anyone, for any reason.”

As the New York Post reported, Fox News issued a statement reiterating the pundit’s denial of his accuser’s claims.

“Judge Napolitano has assured us in the strongest possible terms that these allegations are false and he will fight them aggressively in court,” a spokesperson said.

Law & Crime detailed the allegations against Napolitano, which include pressuring the young male defendant to perform oral sex in exchange for a lighter sentence.

“Pure science fiction”

“I have never had any personal relationship or inappropriate contact or communication of any kind with the man making this accusation,” Napolitano concluded. “Each and every one of his claims against me are pure fiction. Period.”

Charles Corbishley claims that the judge came to his home in 1988, while presiding over the case against him.

“Shortly thereafter, Defendant Napolitano came outside, dressed in a long trench coat,” the lawsuit states. “Defendant Napolitano then called out to plaintiff and summoned him to come to the side of the house, saying ‘can you come back here for a minute’?”

Corbishley, who was 20 years old at the time, claims Napolitano told him he “could be going away for a long time” before putting his hand on the young man’s shoulder and telling him to “be a good boy.”

While his claims are shocking, Napolitano’s denial is unequivocal. In an age where a mere accusation can cost individuals both their livelihoods and reputations, Fox News Channel will hopefully let all the facts play out before making any major decisions.
