Progressive pundits, politicians, and celebrities have been vocal in expressing their outrage over the thought of President Donald Trump nominating the justice who will replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Despite endless strategizing and speculating on the left, however, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) appears to have the votes needed to send Trump’s pick through the confirmation process. Even outspoken liberal Joy Behar and other co-hosts on ABC’s The View have conceded an apparent political loss, as reported by the Daily Caller.
“We’ve lost that battle”
Behar’s remarks on the topic came during a segment of the daytime panel talk show on Tuesday.
The five co-hosts spent time discussing Ginsburg’s death as well as its ramifications with Election Day drawing near.
To the chagrin of Behar and others, Trump appears poised to see a third Supreme Court nominee confirmed before the close of his first term.
Instead of continuing to rail against the cause, Behar said Democrats have “lost” this fight and should shift their focus toward regaining control of the GOP-controlled Senate on Election Day.
“You know, I was thinking about the Supreme Court, because we’ve lost that battle,” she said, according to the Daily Caller. “I don’t want to talk about the Republicans anymore. We’ve lost that battle.”
“That is who you’re voting for”
Behar then went on to list a series of states “up for grabs” in upcoming Senate races.
“So those states could become Democratic, help the Democrats win the Senate,” she said before insisting that the make-up of the Supreme Court would have a minimal personal impact on her due to the “privilege” she enjoys in American society.
“It’s for those people who are not privileged that we have to worry about,” Behar added, according to the Daily Caller. “That is who you’re voting for. It’s like you wear the mask for someone else and you want the Supreme Court to be a steady force in America for someone else, not for you when you’re privileged.”

Even if reality appears to be settling in among some on the left, there is no indication that the clamor of opposition will be getting quieter anytime soon.
