Judge Andrew Napolitano says former CIA director John Brennan may be in danger of facing perjury charges.
Brennan has been adamant that it was former FBI director James Comey who wanted to use the Steele dossier in the Trump-Russia collusion investigation, NOT him.
Brennan even testified as such, but an email sent from Comey to a staffer allegedly points to Brennan as the one who demanded the dossier be included.
The email, which Trey Gowdy has viewed and was recently asked about on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, apparently points the finger at Brennan for insisting the dossier be used — something Brennan has completely denied to this point.
Not only that, Brennan formally testified under oath the dossier was never used as part of the intel report the CIA put together.
Bartiromo brought up the email again with Judge Andrew Napolitano. “The reason this is important is because this is fingering John Brennan and Brennan has been running around the last two years saying that President Trump committed treason, and in fact if this email is correct, it is basically saying that it was Brennan who said use the dossier in the intel assessment …”
Napolitano replied, “I haven’t seen the email, obviously, but if the email is correct, it directly contradicts what Brennan said under oath, which is another thing for the folks in Connecticut to examine whether or not the former Director of the CIA perjured himself in order to make himself look good.”
By the “folks in Connecticut,” Napolitano was referring to U.S. Attorney John Durham who has been tasked with the most recent probe into the origins of the Russia investigation.
According to Brennan, the report gathered by the CIA did not even use the Steele dossier in its assessment. Brennan further maintained it was Comey who insisted the dossier be included in the intelligence assessment.
This new information, if correct, puts a whole new spin on things. Additionally, everyone seems to be forgetting the role Senator John McCain played in all of this.
He is allegedly the one that brought the dossier to Comey in the first place.
This is obviously turning into a blame game, but hopefully, Barr and company will get it all sorted out and bring those responsible for this fiasco to justice.
