President Joe Biden has been caught spreading misinformation about AR-15s in an address pushing gun control in response to the horrible Nashville school shooting.
The President made the insane claim that rounds fired by an AR-15 "blow up" once they penetrate the human body. This absurd claim demonstrates both the President's ignorance of weapons as well as the complicity of the mainstream media in the President's lies.
The AR-15 fires a 5.56 round which is comparatively small compared to the 7.62 round fired by the AK-47. While a 5.56 round is deadly, the President's description of the damage is completely exaggerated in order to fearmonger.
Rifle maker George Urmston, owner of Battle Tested Equipment, debunked Biden's lies by saying, "The truth is quite the opposite. The 5.56 was actually designed to travel at certain speeds and pass through the body intact. It is actually by passing through the body intact at a certain speed that the round has its effect."
The President's ridiculous claims are designed to incite fear in Americans and help drive momentum for gun-grabbing policies designed to strip Americans of their 2nd Amendment rights.
This isn't the first time Biden has lied about firearms in order to incite panic following a tragic mass shooting.
After the horrible shooting in Uvalde, Texas, last year, Joe Biden made the even more absurd claim that 9mm pistols fire rounds that blow "the lung[s] out of the body."
9mm pistols are one of the most common forms of self-defense that Americans employ. 9mm's are also used by police officers and other law enforcement agencies thanks to their convenience and compact size.
The President clearly doesn't know what he is talking about and the mainstream media continues to look the other way. When it comes to our constitutional rights, there is no room for ignorance and misinformation.
The tragic shooting in Nashville has sparked the predictable demands that law-abiding Americans give up their constitutional rights.
Instead of arming and securing our schools and other vulnerable targets, Democrats want to strip everyone of their right to arm themselves. Violence and crime are surging and yet Democrats think you should make yourself more vulnerable.
Gun control has never been about safety, it has always been about power and control.
Thankfully with the Senate almost evenly split and the House of Representatives in Republican hands, the 2nd Amendment remains safe for the most part.
Unfortunately, the divide also means that real solutions to combat these horrible shootings won't go anywhere. It is time to make American children secure and prevent more mass shootings by deranged and radicalized lunatics.
