President Joe Biden has been caught red-handed lying about his support for gay marriage after claiming he was pro-gay marriage since high school.
During an interview with the Comedy Central show “The Daily Show,” Biden told host Kal Penn that he had approved of gay marriage since he was in high school. However, Biden’s actions as a legislator say otherwise as he opposed gay marriage until political opinion began to sway in favor of it.
Biden claimed “I can remember exactly when my epiphany was. I hadn’t thought about it much, to tell you the truth. I was a senior in high school and my dad was dropping me off. I remember about to get out of the car, and I looked to my right and two well-dressed men in suits kissed each other.”
Biden supposedly supported gay marriage in 1961 but he voted against gay marriage repeatedly up into the mid-1990s.
Rewriting history
President Biden is hoping that Americans aren’t paying attention when he says he has accepted gay marriage for his entire life.
The reality is that President Biden didn’t support gay marriage until it was politically popular. It wasn’t until 2012 that then-Vice President Biden made comments in support of gay marriage.
Before that, he had a long history of opposing gay marriage. Biden voted for the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996 and also supported cutting federal funds to schools that taught acceptance of same-sex marriage.
Biden’s views on marriage were quite traditional until it became politically advantageous to be in favor of gay marriage.
Author AG Hamilton pointed out that, “It will never not be weird that Biden simply lies about stuff like this constantly. Biden voted for DOMA in 1996 and was openly saying marriage should be between a man and a woman over a decade later. There’s a 2006 clip from a Meet The Press interview where he says exactly that.”
Joe Biden is attempting to rewrite history with blatant lies and the mainstream media is happily enabling him. This comes after years of panic about former President Donald Trump’s alleged lies and dishonesty that supposedly undermined the office of president.
No rules for Democrats
Where every aspect of Donald Trump’s past was scrutinized and picked over, President Biden’s past has remained suspiciously unquestioned by those who purport to be the “guardians” of our democracy.
The same media has been silent on the decidedly non-woke past of politicians like Joe Biden. The rules are clear, Republicans will be punished for past sins while Democrats are free to do as they please.
Kal Penn and the media elite sit by while Joe Biden blatantly lies and there is no challenge to those lies.
Until the media holds politicians accountable no matter their political affiliation, the American people have no reason to trust them.
