Earlier this week, Jill Biden hit the campaign trail in New Hampshire to talk to voters about the 2020 presidential election.
Rather than trying to promote Biden’s policy proposals, his wife is trying to convert voters that don’t like Biden by saying he is the only one that can actually beat Trump.
Violating the Spirit of an Election
An election, especially in the primary, is about supporting the candidate that most represents your interests. That, however, is not how Jill Biden is asking voters to choose.
She is even conceding that some of her husband’s policies may not be that strong, but she believes people should vote for him and make him their candidate simply because they believe Biden has the best chance of beating Donald Trump.
During her appearance, she stated, “Your candidate might be better on, I don’t know, healthcare than Joe is, but you’ve got to look at who’s going to win this election.”
Now, that is not exactly a ringing endorsement for any candidate in a primary election.
Didn’t They Try This Already?
During the 2016 election, the Democrat party put all its eggs in the Clinton basket because they thought she had the best chance of beating Donald Trump. The Super Delegates could not throw their support behind Clinton quick enough, all but assuring her of a win.
Then, as the general election season wore on, the big selling point for Democrats was that Hillary was not Trump, so you should pull the handle for her. Well, we all know how that one turned out.
The fact Jill Biden is telling people to disregard Biden’s platform and vote for him simply to beat Trump defies everything this country stands for. Americans should vote for the candidate that represents them, not just the candidate that can beat someone else.
This is where Democrats are losing their audience. They are trying to dictate how everyone needs to act for the sake of the party rather than the people.
There is also the fact we have yet to see one honest poll so far this election season. Virtually every poll that has been conducted has had a significant Democrat bias, sometimes with as much as 65% of those polled being Democrats.
Honestly, it is shameful that this is the tack the Biden campaign is now taking in its effort to lure in more support for the aging, human gaffe machine that is Joe Biden.
