More bad news for James Comey…
Although the DOJ has declined to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey for his role in leaking sensitive information about the Michael Flynn investigation to hurt President Trump, it looks like he might still face criminal charges after all.
Devin Nunes, a ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, has just publicly revealed that there is still a crime that hasn’t been mentioned regarding Comey – conspiracy.
Nunes said this in a recent Breitbart interview:
“So this is a guy who is definitely not telling the truth, and the good thing about the IG report is he’s now made himself, the IG has now made him eligible for a larger conspiracy charge—a criminal conspiracy charge—which is what we really hope the attorney general [U.S. attorney] out of Connecticut is able to do.”
If the U.S. attorney out of Connecticut is able to go forward with a criminal conspiracy charge, Comey will be sunk.
It’s common knowledge that Comey gloated after the DOJ declined to prosecute him for mishandling classified government information. He even went to Twitter after the decision not to prosecute was made public, going so far as to demand an “apology” from people who thought he deserved to be punished.
Comey is the worst the FBI has to offer. The guy purposely tried to sabotage a sitting United States President and just got a slap on the wrist for doing it. That’s why these conspiracy charges could change everything.
If convicted, it would definitely show other anti-Trump officials in the FBI that illegal activity will not be tolerated. And it would set a great example for other departments as well.
James Comey deserves to get the book thrown at him. And the fact that he could still be charged is great news for America.
These criminal charges should be encouraged.
We’ll see what happens. But in the meantime, James Comey should be a very, very worried man.
