Democrat Attorney General Letitia James wants Donald Trump's own children to testify against him in his upcoming fraud trial in New York.
Ivanka Trump is named on the witness list, along with her brothers Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and President Trump himself.
“If called, he will testify,” Trump’s personal attorney Alina Habba told the Post on Thursday,
In a shocking ruling Tuesday, Judge Arthur Engoron unilaterally decided that Trump, his sons, and the Trump Organization were liable for fraud.
A non-jury trial will begin on Monday to weigh remaining charges.
James has spent years pursuing an investigation into Trump and his business, claiming he defrauded lenders by overvaluing his assets. Trump has blasted James, who campaigned for her office with a pledge to go after Trump, as a "racist" with an axe to grind.
Ivanka Trump was removed from the case earlier this year after a court found any claims against her were barred by the statute of limitations. Ivanka Trump left the Trump Organization in 2017 to serve as an adviser to her father at the White House.
Many, including Trump, have characterized Engoron's sweeping ruling as a kiss of death for Trump's business empire.
Engoron's ruling strips Trump of his business licenses, which could make it impossible for Trump to operate in New York.
It could possibly end with Trump losing control of iconic properties that are integral to his legacy, like Trump Tower in New York.
“I have a Deranged, Trump Hating Judge, who RAILROADED this FAKE CASE through a NYS Court at a speed never before seen," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump and his sons have decried the draconian ruling as part of a broader political witch hunt targeting Trump, who is neck-and-neck in the polls with Joe Biden, and Trump's family.
In addition to crippling Trump's business, James wants Trump to pay $250 million in fines - on top of $5 million Trump has been ordered to pay in a separate case involving E. Jean Carroll, the advice columnist who claims Trump raped her in a busy department store.
Trump is also fighting for his freedom in four separate criminal cases overseen by Democrat prosecutors - and those cases are sucking up millions in legal fees as well.
Speaking in Michigan this week, Trump - the only modern president to actually get poorer since entering politics - told auto workers that he "risked it all" by challenging America's corrupt "political class."
"And just like you are fighting for your rights and your American dream, I’m fighting for my rights and fighting for my freedom against the coordinated, corrupt, very politicized forces of evil," Trump said.
