Ivanka Trump - the daughter of former President Donald Trump - is not worried about her father going to jail.
In fact, according to People magazine, no member of the Trump family is worried about the former president going to jail. And, the apparent reason why they are not worried is because they do not believe that he is going to jail.
An anonymous source told the magazine, "Everyone knows he’s not going to jail. No one is worried."
People report that this source was specifically referring to "Trump's closest family members," which would include Ivanka Trump.
This comes as former President Trump is facing four criminal indictments: one in New York, Florida, Washington, D.C., and Georgia. In New York, District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) has accused Trump of wrongdoing in relation to a "hush money" payment that Trump allegedly made to a porn star.
The Florida case regards Trump's alleged mishandling of classified documents, and the D.C. case regards the Capitol protest of Jan. 6, 2021. Special counsel Jack Smith - who was handpicked by the Biden administration - is leading both of these cases.
Finally, there is the Georgia case that has been brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D). Willis has accused Trump and nearly 20 other individuals of committing crimes when they challenged Georgia's results in the 2020 presidential election.
Trump has pled not guilty to all of the charges in each of the indictments. Trump maintains that these indictments are political in nature - that they are designed to interfere with his 2024 presidential election.
Legal experts - at least the ones who attempt to be non-partisan - do agree that the cases have little, if any, legal merit. Given the location of the cases, however, it is expected that Trump will be convicted, but that any conviction will eventually be overturned on appeal. Whatever the case may be, no serious legal expert believes that Trump will spend any time in jail.
Ivanka Trump has largely kept silent about her father's situation.
Ivanka, following her role in her father's administration, has tried to distance herself from politics and to instead focus more on her family. But, recently, she appeared to comment on the political persecution of her father, albeit indirectly.
Ivanka Trump did so in an Instagram post in which she shared a statement from a Miami, Florida, pizzeria owner. The owner, David Mizrachi, made the statement after Ivanka Trump visited his restaurant.
Mizrachi, after describing Ivanka Trump as "kind, gracious, and full of smiles," said, "I had the opportunity to talk to her and just let her know that we support her and her family during these ridiculous trials of her father and that we all know is a complete farce."
Some have interpreted this as Ivanka Trump speaking through Mizrachi.
