Ivanka Trump posts heartfelt message about dealing with ‘grief’ during first Christmas after the death of her mother Ivana

The Christmas holiday season is generally a time of joy in which family and friends often gather together, a situation that can be rather sad and stressful for those who recently lost loved ones who otherwise would be a part of the festivities.

Such was the case for former first daughter Ivanka Trump, who recently shared how much more difficult it was for her to deal with the “grief” during this first Christmas following the death earlier this year of her mother, Ivana Trump, the Daily Wire reported.

Ivana, of course, was former President Donald Trump’s first wife and the mother of his three oldest children — Ivanka, Don Jr., and Eric — who passed away in July after suffering serious injuries in an accidental fall in her apartment.

“Grief during the holidays can be harder …”

Ivanka Trump posted to Instagram this week a series of photos of herself as a child with her beloved mother during the Christmas season many years ago and wrote at length about how she currently felt as she continued to deal with the tragic loss.

“This is the first holiday season since the passing of my mother,” Trump wrote. “It’s true: grief during the holidays can be harder than any other time of the year.”

“Learning to celebrate differently is a challenge,” she continued. “I am trying to be kind, patient and compassionate with myself and honor and make space for all of the emotions I am experiencing. New memories are being made, my children’s laughter is abundant, my 96-year-old grandma’s presence at our table brings us all joy, yet the void is undeniable.”

“The loss of a parent is one of life’s very painful passages for which one is never fully prepared,” Trump said. “It hits at the very core of your being. And it takes a good amount of time to emerge from how it dislocates you.”

She added in conclusion, “To all who have experienced the loss of a loved one this year, may hope sustain you, may good memories provide you comfort, may friends and family surround you, and may love give you strength.”

A fatal fall down some stairs

The New York Post reported in July that Ivana Trump had been found dead in her Upper East Side home in Manhattan by a maintenance worker after a cleaning lady and personal aide for the former president’s ex-wife had been unable to gain entry and their calls to Trump herself had gone unanswered.

Trump was discovered laying at the foot of a set of stairs with a spilled cup of coffee next to her, and it seemed apparent that she had suffered a fatal fall.

Per the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office, the death had been ruled “accidental” and had been caused by “blunt impact injuries” to her torso that undoubtedly were suffered during her tumble down the staircase.

The Post noted that according to one of the socialite’s close friends, Trump had recently been suffering from severe hip pain that made walking so difficult and unsteady that she rarely even left her home and sometimes needed assistance to move across any measurable distance.

According to People magazine, Ivana Trump was laid to rest about a week after her death following a funeral Mass in New York City and then a burial service at former President Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey resort and golf course, where she was interred in a golden casket in a private burial plot Trump had previously designated for members of his family.
