Iran continues to poke the bear that is the United States.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Iran launched a medium-range ballistic missile that traveled some 600 miles.
Testing to Provoke
In the wake of U.S. sanctions that are crippling its economy, war may be the only way out for Iran.
As such, the country continues to provoke the United States, hoping Trump will pull the trigger and officially enter into war.
The latest move to encourage a conflict was to test fire a medium-range ballistic missile.
Needless to say, this incident is not being taken lightly by the United States. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo addressed the issue earlier this week with Fox News.
Pompeo stated, “They continue to engage in malign activity; they continue to build out their missile program; they continue to work on their nuclear systems, and yet they want to tell the world that no, they’re just defensive and they’re just being a normal nation and we all see differently.”
The Trump administration also commented on the missile launch. An administration official stated, “We are aware of reports of a projectile launched from Iran, and have no further comment at this time.”
As of this writing, Trump himself has not directly commented on the missile test, but you know he is paying close attention to it.
Iran is the clear aggressor here and has been the entire time. Tensions started to rise several weeks ago when Iran shot down a U.S. drone.
Iran got bolder yet by seizing two U.K. oil tankers after the British had seized an Iranian tanker for violating sanctions.
So far, Trump has refused to take the bait, but who knows how much longer he will be able to avoid confrontation.
