Earlier this week, two local police officers in Louisiana were fired for comments they made about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
On hearing of their firing, Fox News personality Laura Ingraham tweeted a forceful reaction.
Good riddance. Disgusting. https://t.co/TVj7sNMNNr

Our law enforcement officers are expected to hold themselves to a higher standard of conduct than the average person, and fairly or unfairly, even their personal lives are put under the microscope due to the trust the public must have in these individuals.
So when a police officer posted that AOC “needs a round,” it was not taken lightly.
There was no confusion about what Officer Charlie Rispoli meant. He clarified in the post: “And I don’t mean the kind she used to serve.”
In addition to Rispoli, a fellow officer liked the post, sealing both of their fates.
When their department became aware of the posts, both officers were rightly terminated.
The Right Move
AOC has few fans among conservatives, but nobody wants to see her dead either.
Violence against any public official can never be encouraged, especially at a time when conservatives are trying to hold people like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), who has openly called for people to physically confront those who support the president, responsible for their statements.
It would be hypocritical to call out Waters, only to defend the words of this officer.
Furthermore, attacking AOC in this manner defeats what conservatives are trying to accomplish. Something such as this only makes her a symbolic martyr for her cause and effectively demonize every conservative in this country, something that simply cannot be allowed to happen.
While some people may not like it, the fact is that Ingraham got this one right — this officer deserved to be fired for what he did.
