In Biden’s first year, more cops have been murdered than any year since 1995

Under President Joe Biden’s time in the White House, American police officers are at historic levels of danger in performing their daily duties, and recently released statistics have confirmed it.

According to Fox News, more police officers have been killed in the line of duty under Biden’s presidency — one year — than any year since 1995.

The groups and individuals who represent America’s brave law enforcement officers, like Jason Johnson, president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF), is now demanding that the Biden administration take action and actually do something about it.

The increase in murders of cops around the nation has been attributed to a number of policies pushed by Democrats, including the “defund the police” movement, the racial riots of 2020, and the soft-on-crime policies enacted by radical, progressive prosecutors in some of America’s largest cities.

“Demoralized”

Johnson, a 20-year veteran of the force, made clear that something has to change, as the situation is becoming worse by the day.

“Law enforcement officers have essentially been marginalized and demoralized and cast aside and encouraged not to enforce the law. And so we’ve seen massive jumps in the homicide rate in cities across America.”

He went on to hit elected Democrats, including the president, saying the rise in cop killings “also resulted in many more officers being assaulted because … a lot of leaders in these cities and leaders in Congress and leaders in the White House have really voiced a lack of respect for law enforcement officers.”

Johnson acknowledged that in the age of social media, as videos of police officers killing Black suspects tend to go immediately viral — even without context — it makes policing that much harder.

“Police don’t expect you to be supportive if what they’ve done is wrong,” Johnson added. “That’s certainly not what we’re asking for. What we asked for is that the president and the administration not make a premature, judgmental and frankly wrong comments … next time a viral video comes out.”

Biden’s failed messaging

Even as the president visited a New York Police Department (NYPD) station last week, his messaging fell on deaf ears, as cops are smart enough to understand that his visit was nothing less than a political PR stunt and photo op.

“Every time you pin that shield on, walk out the door, you’re worried about getting a phone call – too many have gotten the phone call lately,” Biden said. “Every day in this country, 316 people are shot, 106 killed, there have been six NYPD victims of gun violence so far just this year.”

If the president was serious, he’d take action on the issue with the same sense of urgency he deploys on silly political topics like climate change and vowing to only use race and gender as a qualifier for a Supreme Court job. Democrats, up and down the ballot, will absolutely suffer in the 2022 midterms as a result of the Democratic Party’s approach to law enforcement.
