‘In all probability’: Biden hints that nation is headed for new round of lockdowns

Early last year, it was supposed to take just a few weeks to “flatten the curve.” A few months later, the entire economy came to a standstill as lockdowns changed the face of the nation amid COVID-19. We then reached a point where we believed it was all but over, as normalcy returned to most of the country.

However, the situation could once again become even worse than before. According to Breitbart, President Joe Biden just dropped a strong hint indicating that the country could soon return to a state of lockdowns and restrictions as the delta variant of the coronavirus continues to spread across the nation.

“In all probability”

In the wake of the headline-generating news from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that all Americans — regardless of vaccination status — return to wearing masks indoors, reporters have repeatedly pressed Biden on what the situation means for the country in the coming weeks and months.

CBS reporter Weijia Jiang was able to elicit an answer from the president on that topic, asking Biden if America could soon face a new round of lockdowns.

His three-word answer was grim: “In all probability.”

Not surprisingly, Biden also brought up a new statistic about the slight uptick in vaccinations as the delta variant continues to make news, saying “almost a million” Americans received a COVID-19 on Thursday alone.

“So I am hopeful that people are beginning to realize how essential it is to move,” Biden added, according to Breitbart.

Biden is totally confused

The CDC, and the Biden administration by extension, have been heavily criticized in the past week over the new mask guidelines. Even the president himself, as Breitbart reported, has struggled to provide Americans with a clear explanation as to why, suddenly, vaccinated individuals are being forced to strap on a mask indoors.

According to the CDC, the latest guidance urges Americans in areas of “high” or “substantial” spread of the virus to wear masks indoors. Biden apparently missed that memo, as he argued to the press that in certain parts of the country, one didn’t have to wear a mask based on the number of vaccinated individuals, which was an outright false and misleading statement.

“Well, if you notice a lot of places people don’t have to wear masks,” the president said as he uttered the blatantly false information. “Let’s get that straight. The places where people have gotten vaccinated, where we have a high vaccination rate, people do not have to wear masks at all.”

When challenged again on why vaccinated people are being forced to mask up, the president simply blamed the situation on the delta variant, providing no further explanation.

“What happened was, a new variant came along, they didn’t get vaccinated, it was spread more rapidly, and people were getting sick. That’s the difference,” Biden said, failing to point out that vaccination status doesn’t seem to matter, as vaccinated Americans are still contracting the coronavirus.
