Fox News reported Tuesday that unidentified human remains were found at the home of Chad Daybell, the husband of famed “cult mom” Lori Vallow.
Local police teamed up with the FBI to execute a search warrant at Daybell’s Idaho home before taking the 51-year-old into custody, according to Fox.
The nuptials between Daybell and Vallow were entrenched in controversy right from the start. According to Fox, Daybell’s then-wife had died under suspicious circumstances ahead of his marriage to Vallow, and Vallow’s two children had unexplainably disappeared.
The two children were aged 7 and 17, according to Fox, and their disappearance was the subject of headlines around the world after it had happened.
Going by reports that have surfaced thus far, the police appear to have entered Daybell’s home specifically looking for the bodies of the children, who have not been seen since September 2019, according to Fox.
Searching for the children
Authorities showed up at Daybell’s home around 7 a.m. local time to execute their warrant, Fox reported, though it remains unclear what — or who — exactly they found.
Citing family members, a reporter for azfamily.com has alleged that police had found at least two bodies, but authorities have not confirmed this account.

According to Fox, Daybell’s wife, Vallow, remains in the custody of Idaho authorities after being arrested in February on charges of child abandonment. But the children’s disappearance is far from the only controversy tied to this couple. In July 2019, Lori Vallow’s ex-husband also met his demise when her brother, Alex Cox, shot and killed Charles Vallow, as Fox reported.
The questions just keep coming — but hopefully, authorities’ recent discovery will finally start providing some answers.
