Hunter Biden seen at White House State Dinner days after pleading guilty to criminal charges

This past week saw the announcement of a Hunter Biden plea agreement on federal criminal charges as well as the whistleblower revelation that the years-long federal probe that led to that controversial agreement had been politicized and blocked and delayed by senior government officials at all turns.

Yet, the week also saw Hunter Biden confidently mingling with all sorts of domestic and foreign dignitaries and officials during an extravagant state dinner event at the White House in honor of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Conservative Brief reported.

It was not a good look for President Joe Biden and his oft-repeated insistence that his presidency would restore decency and honor to the White House.

Hunter Biden receives a slap on the wrist

On Tuesday, it was announced by the Delaware U.S. Attorney's Office that Hunter Biden had agreed to plead guilty to a pair of misdemeanor tax code violations for failing to file income tax returns for two years -- charges that usually result in up to a year in jail on each count for the average American but for which Biden will likely only receive probation.

It was also noted that Biden had separately entered into a pretrial diversion agreement that would likely spare him any jail time for the unlawful possession of a firearm when he was an admitted user of and addicted to a controlled substance -- a charge that can result in up to 10 years in prison for the average American.

The Conservative Brief noted that the "sweetheart deal" granted to the president's son was sharply criticized by many Republicans as a blatant display of the increasingly overtly politicized and two-tiered system of justice in this nation.

IRS whistleblowers testify on politicized Hunter Biden probe

Just two days after that plea deal for Hunter Biden was announced, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) issued a press release to publicly share lightly redacted transcripts of the sworn testimony provided by two IRS whistleblowers who had been involved in the years-long federal probe into the president's son.

They testified that despite ample evidence to support multiple serious charges against Biden, Justice Department officials engaged in misconduct and provided preferential treatment in that they incessantly delayed the efforts of investigators, tipped off Biden's attorneys about impending investigative actions, and outright denied multiple requests for subpoenas, search warrants, and criminal indictments.

The IRS whistleblowers further testified that they suffered retaliatory punishment from their own superiors for raising concerns about the politicized manner in which the Biden investigation had been stymied and mishandled by senior administration officials.

Hunter Biden listed as an honored guest at White House State dinner

The same day that Chairman Smith shared the damning testimony of the IRS whistleblowers, the White House hosted Indian Prime Minister Modi for an official state dinner, at which President Biden's allegedly corrupt and now admittedly criminal son was spotted "rubbing elbows" with other guests, including foreign businesspeople and dignitaries and high-ranking government officials.

Indeed, Hunter Biden and his wife Melissa Cohen were included on the White House guest list for the exclusive event, as were James Biden and his wife Sarah, the younger brother and sister-in-law of the president.

That is notable because, according to the ongoing investigation of the Republican-led House Oversight Committee, both Hunter and James Biden are deeply involved in the "Biden family business" of alleged influence-peddling with foreign business associates to the tune of millions of dollars in potentially corrupt payoffs through an elaborate "web" of limited liability corporations and shell companies used to disguise the origin of foreign funds flowing into the family's many bank accounts.

This all appears quite blatantly indecent and unseemly and substantially undermines Democratic claims that "no one is above the law" -- unless, of course, as many Americans suspect, that particular phrase only applies to the political opponents of the current president and his party.
