Americans were outraged to learn that Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, got a sweetheart deal that landed him no jail time for multiple tax and gun violations.
The good news is that while the Department of Justice seems to have gotten Biden out of his tax and gun charges, the deal didn't cover Biden's alleged bribery scheme. Those allegations are particularly important as they also involve President Joe Biden.
Joe and Hunter Biden allegedly received $5 million each from Burisma executive, Mykola Zlochevsky, according to an FBI informant file obtained by the House Oversight Committee.
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued a statement saying, "If the DOJ thinks this dismisses the $5 million alleged bribery scheme or the years of reported Biden family corruption, they are mistaken."
The fact that Hunter Biden is facing no jail time for his multiple serious violations should outrage all Americans. The President's son got away with a serious gun violation, something a regular American would never get away with.
For an administration so determined to strip Americans of their 2nd Amendment rights, one would think being tough on gun violations would be a priority.
The sweetheart deal that Biden was handed is further proof that we live in a two-tier society where the rules are different depending on political positions.
Hunter Biden's gun violation was no mere technical mistake. In 2018, he bought a handgun while he was using controlled substances. To buy that gun, Biden had indicated on a form that he was not addicted or using controlled substances.
Hunter Biden deliberately lied to purchase a handgun, which wouldn't be so egregious if it weren't for the zealous anti-2nd Amendment stance of President Biden.
The son of the President having multiple tax violations is also of concern, especially when most Americans are overburdened by taxes and inflation caused by the current administration.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) responded to the plea deal by saying, "These charges against Hunter Biden and sweetheart plea deal have no impact on the Oversight Committee’s investigation. We will not rest until the full extent of President Biden’s involvement in the family’s schemes are revealed."
Representative Lance Gooden (R-TX) said, "The DOJ brought three weak charges against Hunter to try to trick the American public into thinking they aren’t politically biased. But Hunter will see zero days in jail even though he has committed many crimes. Trump faces 450 years over a paperwork dispute."
Hunter Biden is by no means off the hook and neither is President Joe Biden. Republicans are determined to uncover the truth about the Biden family business and what exactly they gave to America's enemies in return for their millions.
If anything, this sweetheart plea deal may have made things worse for Democrats as it has further shown the corruption of the Department of Justice.
