House impeachment managers: ‘Trump has acted in the way that guilty people do’

Head impeachment manager Adam Schiff (D-CA) has been one of the loudest voices pushing for President Trump’s removal from office, and as the tide of public opinion has turned against impeachment, his accusations have only grown more strident.

Now, the House impeachment team, led by Schiff, has reached an “alternative” sort of verdict, namely, that Trump is guilty simply because he acts guilty.

Clearly, Democrats are not interested in delivering justice, all they want is to oust President Trump.

Dems: Trump “has acted” guilty

As far as Democrats are concerned, Trump has been guilty as charged since August. When the so-called whistleblower brought accusations against President Trump regarding his July phone call with the leader of Ukraine, that was all that the left needed. No evidence was required, only allegations.

Now with the Senate trial starting, Democrats are still holding tight to their zealous position. Schiff is the leading impeachment manager responsible for enacting the Democrat strategy in the Senate trial.

In a nine-page document, the seven Democrat impeachment managers argued that “President Trump engaged in a cover-up that itself establishes his consciousness of guilt. Innocent people seek to bring the truth to light. In contrast, President Trump has acted in the way that guilty people do when they are caught and fear the facts.”

At no point in the document did Democrats provide actual evidence of Trump’s guilt. The only thing they have done is to point to Trump’s defensive measures as proof of said guilt.

This absurd argument was made by Schiff’s team in response to a brief from Trump’s lawyers. Trump’s team argues that “The articles of impeachment submitted by House Democrats are a dangerous attack on the right of the American people to freely choose their president.”

“This is a brazen and unlawful attempt to overturn the results of the 2016 election, and interfere with the 2020 election.”

Both sides focused on 2020

Democrats know that their chances don’t look good against Trump in the 2020 race to the White House. Their candidates are weak, and even some in the mainstream media have been forced to admit that there aren’t any Democrat candidates who can successfully go head-to-head with Trump.

So now their plan seems to be to impeach, convict and remove Trump as a safeguard in order to reach their goal of taking back control of the executive branch.

This is, of course, a troubling situation for all Americans. Democrats are actively abusing a constitutional process to win a political battle. The last hope for justice is that Senate Republicans will stand strong and acquit the president. If Trump is in fact ousted from office, allegations — not evidence — will become the new standard for determining guilt.
