After weeks of airing their dirty laundry on Twitter, Democrats met to try to finally put an end to this public squabble.
In an effort to show their new vowed unity, several members of the Democrat caucus deleted tweets calling out their fellow Democrats.
Quashing Their Differences
It is actually pretty amazing this public squabble got started in the first place. It is even more amazing it is not just a couple of members of the party, but rather the entire House that is not getting along.
While the most touted public fight is going on between AOC and Pelosi, there are dozens of other Democrats firing shots off at each other on Twitter.
Rather than walk down the hallway and discuss the situation like adults, they fire off tweets at each other for all to see.
Now, though, they say that is all going to stop.
Several high-ranking Democrats met with the press on Thursday to issue a statement on the infighting, stating, “House Democrats are a diverse, robust and passionate family.”
“We love our country and are dedicated to making life better for everyday Americans. At times, there may be different perspectives on the way forward. That is a hallmark of the legislative process.”
Was This the Trump Plan After All?
When the infighting first started, most of it was in relation to the “squad,” the nickname given to four new progressive congresswomen, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley.
Led by AOC, the radical platform of the “squad” created a considerable divide. Over the last week, Trump has repeatedly called them out on Twitter, more or less forcing the entire Democrat party to embrace and defend them all.
With that defense, though, came overconfidence by the “squad” to introduce radical legislation. An example of that would be the recent pro-BDS legislation introduced by Omar to boycott Israel.
Rest assured, this new vow of peace will be short-lived because the leftist “squad” can be counted on to do something to create more and more divide in the Democrat party. All the while, President Trump sits back and watches it with a big smile on his face.
