Representative Katherine Clark’s (D-MA) son, Jared Dowell, was arrested on Saturday during an anti-police protest in Boston, Massachusetts, for multiple serious charges.
Dowell was arrested after allegedly vandalizing a monument and during his arrest assaulted a police officer. Dowell is facing charges of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Destruction or Injury of Personal Property, and Damage of Property by Graffiti/Tagging.
Clark issued a statement on her son’s arrest saying that “Last night, my daughter was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts. I love Riley, and this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting. This will be evaluated by the legal system, and I am confident in that process.”
Assaulting a police officer and vandalizing monuments is indicative of the type of parent Representative Clark has been. This is far more serious than simply a “difficult time,” in the “cycle” of raising a child.
Terrible look for Clark
Clark’s statement makes it sound like the arrest of her son was an unfortunate incident and was a mistake made by an otherwise law-abiding citizen.
The police incident report paints an entirely different picture and shows that Dowell and his compatriots were violent agitators.
The police report stated that “Upon arrival officers observed an individual defacing the monument with spray paint. The tagging read “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB”. The suspect was later identified as Jared Dowell, 23, of Melrose. During the arrest of Jared Dowell, a group of about 20 protesters began to surround officers while screaming profanities though megaphones on the public street causing traffic to come to a standstill. While interfering with the arrest of Jared Dowell, an officer was hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth.”
The behavior of Dowell and the other individuals at this anti-police protest is very similar to the behavior of those participating in the nationwide anti-police protests that burned down American cities in 2020.
The fact that this is the son of a Democrat Congresswoman makes things even worse. This is an individual that comes from an extremely privileged background and should know better but is instead spraypainting monuments and assaulting police officers.
Jared Dowell pled not guilty to all charges on Monday during his arraignment and Americans are right to worry that Dowell has a chance of escaping justice for his actions due to his family.
Those individuals who rioted and caused billions of dollars of damage in anti-police riots seem to have a better chance of getting off easy because of the justice system’s apparent lack of care for prosecuting violent leftist activists.
The anti-police protest in Boston seems to have been inspired by protests in Atlanta after an anti-police activist shot a police officer and was killed in the ensuing shootout.
The officer who was shot was hit in the abdomen but is not in serious condition. The activist who shot the officer, a non-binary individual who went by the name “Tortuguita,” was killed in the shootout.
Allowing violent individuals like Jared Dowell and his Antifa friends off easy will only encourage more violence and disorderly conduct.
