Turkish sports fans were horrified to watch a local TV star go down right in front of their eyes.
Sukru Oytan, who hosts a local sports TV show, suffered a heart attack while he was live on air earlier this week.
The broadcast started off like every other — then it took a turn for the worst.
The TV host suddenly dropped his head to his desk, and it was quite apparent something was horribly wrong.
Oytan started breathing heavily, almost panting, then he fell out of his chair to the ground.
He was immediately taken to a local hospital.
It did not take long for word to get out that Oytan had, in fact, suffered from a heart attack during the broadcast.
Oytan has reportedly been battling heart problems for some time.
In fact, it was less than two weeks ago when he had a pacemaker put in due to an irregular heartbeat.
“Our colleague Sukru Oytan had a pacemaker placed due to arrhythmia 10 days ago,” a statement from the network read. “Today, during the [program], he felt bad and fainted.”
Oytan is now reportedly in stable condition.
Amazingly, this is the second on-air heart attack that has made headlines over the last two months.
In late October, Glenn Hoddle collapsed while doing a live show in London.
Hoddle was lucky enough that an engineer on staff had been educated in first aid and was able to resuscitate him.
