Holocaust Survivor Killed in Anti-Semitic Attack

When you see a death such as this, it creates a shudder right down to your very core.

A holocaust survivor, Mireille Knoll, 86, was brutally murdered in Paris several days ago.

How It Happened

The report of the incident is quite disturbing.

Prior to having her house set ablaze, Knoll was stabbed almost a dozen times.

What was their reason for attacking this woman?

French authorities say the murders thought Ms. Knoll was simply too rich.

Who Was Mireille Knoll?

Knoll was one of the lucky ones that was able to evade capture and death by the Nazis.

During the Vel d’Hiv roundup, when 13,000 Jews were deported, she used her mother’s Brazilian passport to stay out of Nazi hands.

Why Kill Her?

According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, it was nothing more than hatred.

“Membership, real or supposed, of … a particular religion” was the motivating factor for this crime.

Interior Minister Gerard Collomb also chimed in on the brutal murder.

“To attack a Jew is to attack France and the values that are very basis of this nation.

The Criminals

The men that did this allegedly had a long history of brutality.

One of the yet to be identified killers had previously molested a 12-year-old girl.

While in custody, one of the men told authorities “…Jews have money.”

Not the First Time

This is becoming a rather alarming occurrence in Paris.

Only a year ago, a 65-year-old Jewish woman was killed during another anti-Semitic attack.

Her death was another brutal murder, as she was thrown out of a window after being badly beaten.

Paris, once a tourist hotbed, is becoming less and less appealing every day.

Visitors are already walking on eggshells due to the rash of terror attacks in the country, and now they have to worry about religiously motivated attacks as well.
