A former aide to Hillary Clinton just provided some insight on the 2020 presidential election.
According to Philippe Reines, it appears as though Clinton has finally put her presidential hopes to rest.
With Hillary Clinton hot on the campaign trail, there has been a lot of speculation that she is winding it up for one more shot at the White House.
Reines says that is not true, though.
He says Clinton is merely helping out her fellow Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections.
As far as he is concerned, the most important thing right now is to once again gain a majority in Congress and the Senate.
In Clinton’s eyes, this is something that must be done at all costs.
The former first lady has even told people that the time for civility has passed — at least until Democrats are in power again.
When Reines was asked if Clinton would be running, he would not completely rule it out.
However, his answer definitely leaned more toward a no than a yes.
He described the likelihood of Hillary running again to the odds of winning a Powerball drawing.
Fox’s Martha MacCallum, who was doing the interview with Reines, made a rather interesting comment about the time coming to put Clinton on the shelf.
Having run two times already, and having lost both times, perhaps it is time for someone new to get into the dance.
Reines said that thought process was just ridiculous.
“This notion of ‘go away,’ there is some sexism to it,” Reines said.
It is kind of ironic that he is accusing conservatives of sexism when many in the party are hoping Nikki Haley makes a run for president after Trump.
The fact is people simply do not trust Clinton — period.
However, if she would like to give it another go, most conservatives would welcome the challenge.
As Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, it would be an early Christmas present for everyone if Hillary announces her candidacy again.
