Hillary Clinton torched for scolding young voters to vote for Biden

 April 6, 2024

Unsurprising to many, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stepped in it once again.

According to Breitbart, Democrat voters torched the former first lady after she seemingly scolded them last week during an interview with "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon.

"Get over yourself" was her message to voters who are not thrilled with the idea of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump entering into a rematch.

Her comment ignited a firestorm from her own side.

What did she say?

Clinton made it clear that she's deeply out of touch with the average Democrat voter, given the feedback she received after making the asinine comment.

"Get over yourselves, those are the two choices … And, you know, it’s one of, like, one is old & effective & compassionate, has a heart & really cares about people, & one is old & has been charged with 91 felonies," Clinton said during the Fallon interview.

She added, "I don’t understand why this is a hard choice, really."

Democrat Strategist Mark Longabaugh was one of many strategists who said Clinton proved once again that she's "tonally off-sync" with her messaging to voters ahead of a major election, recounting her "basket of deplorables" comment that only bolstered the other side.

Breitbart noted:

Notably, in September 2016, two months before that year’s election, then-Demcorat presidential nominee Clinton said, “To just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.” She went on to lose the election.

Winning back voters

Biden's disaffected voters -- especially young ones -- need to be carefully and strategically herded back to the left if Biden wants a chance at winning, and Longabaugh explained that her most recent comment is not the way to go about that.

"I’m not sure that is the most effective way to win disaffected Democrats, younger voters, back to Joe Biden. I’m really not," Longabaugh said.

"Young people want to be inspired, they don’t want to be lectured to,” he added. “The way to win them back is not to wag your finger at them but to talk about Biden’s great achievements on climate, about his work to protect a woman’s right to choose, and so on."

Only time will tell how much more damage Clinton will do to her side before the November election. Hopefully, she keeps it up.
