There is much about this murder that has pointed the police to believe the doctor was actually targeted rather than a random killing.
First, the doctor apparently rode his bike to work every day.
This pattern was obviously picked up on by his killer.
To look less suspicious, the shooter approached the doctor on a bike himself.
Second, the accuracy of the shots points to a professional hit.
When the autopsy report was released, Dr. Hausknecht had been shot three times in the torso and head.
Police remain perplexed as to the motive of the shooting.
While mystified, Houston Police are still confident they will be able to find the doctor’s killer.
Still on the Loose
The suspect in the shooting escaped the scene on his bicycle.
He was described as a white or Hispanic Male.
He is believed to be in his 30s and roughly 5’9” or 5’10”.
He is also described as thin, but fit.
Anyone having any information about the suspect or the murder is being asked to contact the Houston Police Department.
