Democrats have displayed a tendency for at least the past decade to immediately politicize mass shooting tragedies and demand strict control laws that would infringe upon the Second Amendment-protected rights of all Americans.
Vice President Kamala Harris is certainly no exception, as she insisted that semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 are akin to a “weapon of war” that should be completely gone from “civil society,” the Conservative Brief reported.
Harris says AR-15-style rifles have “no place in a civil society”
On Saturday, Vice President Harris traveled to Buffalo, New York, to speak at the funeral of one of the victims of a terrible and racially-motivated mass shooting at a grocery store and, thankfully, she largely refrained from making her remarks at that ceremony political or focused on gun control.
The same could not be said for after the service, though, when Harris stopped to speak with reporters prior to boarding Air Force Two for the flight back to Washington D.C.
Her overarching message in those remarks was that “Enough is enough” in regard to mass shootings and gun violence, and she urged the American people to join her in demanding that the government “do something about it.”
“On the issue of gun violence, I will say as I said countless times: We are not sitting around waiting to figure out what the solution looks like. You know, we’re not looking for a vaccine. We know what works on this,” Harris said.
“It includes: Let’s have an assault weapons ban. You know what an assault weapon is? You know how an assault weapon was designed? It was designed for a specific purpose: to kill a lot of human beings quickly,” she continued.
The vice president added, “An assault weapon is a weapon of war with no place — no place in a civil society.”

Calls for bans of all so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” ammunition magazines
Vice President Harris is certainly not alone in demanding bans on so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines, as President Joe Biden has repeatedly done the same over the past week, as have most Democratic members of Congress.
The overwhelming majority of congressional Republicans are decidedly not on board with such measures, and given the incredibly slim majority control Democrats currently hold in Congress, it is highly unlikely that such bans would be passed legislatively.
That won’t stop them from insanely insisting upon the gutting of a core constitutional right, however, or using the bodies of tragically murdered children to try and guilt their political opponents into submitting to their grossly unconstitutional anti-gun agenda.
