Sean Hannity: Democrats ran out of things to say by second day of Senate trial

On only the second day of opening arguments in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, Fox News host Sean Hannity said Democrats were already running out of things to say.

“After hours and hours of mindless endless repetition and babbling, here’s what we learned today: Nothing. We’ve learned absolute nothing,” Hannity said.

Hannity also called the opening arguments the “Schumer-Schiff sham show” and said that Schiff might have mental issues after hearing him speak for hours about all of Trump’s so-called criminal activities.

“Without a doubt, the congenital liar, compromised, corrupt, Adam Schiff is the perfect mascot for just how ugly, radical, [and] dishonest this do-nothing Democratic Party is getting,” said Hannity, who also said he was “concerned” for Schiff’s mental state due to his “psychotic rage delusions.”

Schumer-Schiff sham show

“It’s the same exact Schumer-Schiff Show over and over. They’re now running out of things to say,” Hannity opined.

Schiff and other impeachment managers from the House spent 24 hours over three days making their case against Trump.

They spent the bulk of that time personally maligning Trump and insulting Republicans for not going along with their plans to remove him from office.

Chief Justice John Roberts even reprimanded both sides and instructed them to adopt a more civil tone after Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) suggested that Republicans were treasonous for not voting in support of witness testimony.

For the defense

The president’s attorneys are now in the midst of their own 24-hour block of time for addressing the impeachment charges. Several House Republicans have also joined Trump’s defense team for purposes of the Senate trial.

Trump has said repeatedly that his July 25 phone call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was “perfect” and that impeachment is a “hoax.”

His defenders have insisted that Democrats are ignoring evidence and testimony that exonerates the president, such as statements from Zelensky and other top Ukraine officials indicating that they did not feel pressured by Trump to conduct any investigations.

Not one witness called by House Democrats during their impeachment inquiry produced evidence that Trump conditioned U.S. aid to Ukraine on the launch of an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden, and no amount of repetition by Schiff of tired, debunked talking points will change that fact at this stage of the game.
