Greg Gutfeld threatened to boot co-host Juan Williams from set during heated debate on ‘The Five’

Fox News contributor Juan Williams routinely annoys his fellow contributors as well as the network’s viewers in his typical role as the sole left-leaning voice and co-host on the popular program The Five.

Williams’ shtick of unrelenting, and often baseless, criticism of President Donald Trump and all who support him nearly got him kicked off the set by fellow co-host Greg Gutfeld after an on-air debate grew intensely heated on February 27.

“Deep in the bunker”

The co-hosts of The Five were discussing the incredible testimony delivered earlier that day to the House Oversight Committee by former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

Gutfeld attempted to interrupt Williams in order to allow former fellow co-host Morgan Ortagus a chance to speak when Williams whined, “Gosh, are you guys gonna ever let me finish.”

Gutfeld replied, “No, because you’re always ‘finishing’. There’s somebody sitting there who hasn’t said a damn word.”

“You are so deep in the bunker and…,” Williams said, but a clearly angered Gutfeld immediately cut him off.

“Oh shut up, Juan! I’m in nobody’s ‘bunker.’ Enough with your ‘bunker’. I’m trying to be polite to somebody on the panel, Juan — which you won’t do, which you won’t do!” Gutfeld shot back.

“If you say that again…”

Several moments later, as Williams and co-host Jesse Watters got into a spirited debate over Cohen’s testimony that day, Williams said dismissively of Watters, “Again, you’re so blind, because you, like Greg, are deep in the bunker.”

In a rather serious tone, Gutfeld replied flatly, “You know, if you say that again, I’m going to throw you off the set.”

Williams and the other co-hosts initially laughed off the remark, perhaps nervously, but Gutfeld wasn’t finished, as he leaned forward and pointed an accusatory finger at Williams.

Watch the rest of the fiery exchange:

The whole premise of The Five is to spark lively conversation and debate, but this particular episode took the typical on-set disagreements to a whole new level.

Given the fact that both Williams and Gutfeld have appeared together on the show numerous times since the incident, it would seem they have at least achieved resolution with regard to this particular flare-up.
