In the view of some Republicans, the evidence of impeachable misconduct by President Joe Biden and other top administration officials, including Attorney General Merrick Garland, has become overwhelming and undeniable.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) recently asserted that Attorney General Garland needed to be impeached and removed for refusing to take action against President Biden and his son Hunter while simultaneously going after former President Donald Trump, the Conservative Brief reported.
In addition to Garland and, of course, the president himself, the Georgia congresswoman has moved to formally impeach the head of the Department of Homeland Security and other top officials at the Department of Justice, including the FBI director and the U.S. Attorney for Washington D.C.
In a tweet posted Tuesday, Rep. Greene wrote, "Merrick Garland’s refusal to prosecute Joe and Hunter Biden while persecuting President Trump and many conservatives is grounds for impeachment."
"It’s absolutely unacceptable to allow these criminals to maintain power," she added.
Greene was undoubtedly referencing the reams of evidence of alleged criminal activity and corrupt influence-peddling by members of the Biden family that have been uncovered and exposed over the past six months by the Republican-led House Oversight Committee, of which she is a member.
That includes documented evidence of millions of dollars in payments from foreign entities and individuals that have been funneled to and through and among a complicated network of limited liability corporations and shell companies owned by various members of President Biden's family.
In an interview last week with the Daily Caller, Rep. Greene revealed that members and staffers of the Oversight Committee, Ways and Means Committee, and Judiciary Committee were all "talking" about what their respective probes of the Biden family had found and had begun to "draw lines and connect our investigations."
Oversight, as noted, is looking into the Biden family's financial matters while Ways and Means is following up on revelations from an IRS whistleblower and Judiciary is investigating alleged FBI coverups and interference on behalf of the Bidens.
"What you’re seeing right now, is we’ve got three different committees investigating everything around Joe Biden," Greene told the outlet. "We can basically draw lines and connect our investigations at this point."
"For example, with the IRS whistleblowers, bringing out all the information that Hunter Biden didn’t pay taxes on $2.2 million worth of revenue that came in from foreign countries and foreign nationals -- that aligns with our work on Oversight because we produced through subpoenas -- bank statements that show wire transfers to him from China, Romania, Ukraine into these fake LLCs -- and then the payments get made to all these Biden family members. So we’re going to cross-reference those," the congresswoman added.
As for the lack of urgency from the Republican-led House on her insistent demands for impeachment proceedings against President Biden and other top administration officials, Rep. Greene confessed in an early June interview with Breitbart that she was baffled by the apparent inaction.
Asked what would be needed to spur the launch of impeachment inquiries against Biden and others, Greene said, "To be honest with you? I don’t know," and admitted, "That’s the part that literally leaves me dumbfounded."
"I’ve already been texting a ton of my colleagues, 'We have to impeach Biden, we have to impeach Biden.' I literally introduced articles of impeachment on this very issue on January 20, 2021," she added. "We have to impeach him in the House to show and prove to our voters that we’re willing to do these things, are willing to bring accountability. If we don’t do it, then why do they want to vote for us?"
