Graphic photos from gunfight between cartel gunmen and Mexican police illustrate rising violence in Mexico caused by border crisis

A massive gunfight broke out in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato between cartel gunmen and local police and the confrontation left at least 10 gunmen dead and several officers wounded.

Exclusive photos obtained by Breitbart Texas via citizen journalists working under pseudonyms illustrated the horrific violence that cartels are perpetrating all across Mexico. Viewer discretion is advised as the images are graphic.

Mexico has been growing increasingly violent as cartels continue to grow and take advantage of the crisis at the southern border caused by President Joe Biden.

Cartels are out of control

The gunfight in Guanajuato is just a microcosm of the insane violence that is claiming lives by the dozen every day.

Gunmen from both Cartel Jalisco New Generation and Cartel Santa Rosa de Lima have been attacking each other as part of a turf war and they aren’t afraid of killing innocent bystanders.

The cartels have grown out of control as they reap massive profits from drug and human trafficking thanks to the open southern border. President Biden has so far refused to address the crisis and is showing no signs of changing course.

Border Patrol authorities seized 5,091 pounds of fentanyl at the border in the first nine months of 2022 and that was just in the California section of the border with Mexico.

U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman stated that “A decade ago, we didn’t even know about fentanyl, and now it’s a national crisis. The amount of fentanyl we are seizing at the border is staggering. The number of fentanyl seizures and fentanyl-related deaths in our district are unprecedented.”

Fentanyl is just one industry that cartels are growing rich off of and President Biden’s refusal to shut down the border is enabling them and their hyper-violent ways.

No change in sight

Unless President Biden decides to shut down the southern border and crack down on the cartels, the horrific violence in places like Guanajuato will continue.

Further hampering change is the fact that the Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is in denial about the violence plaguing his country.

The only thing that may bring serious change is if the horrifying violence perpetrated by cartels begins to truly spill over the border.
