The more we learn about Comey’s new book, the more apparent it becomes Comey had a political agenda as the Director of the FBI.
Rep. Gowdy slammed Comey over the book, stating, “I can’t think of anyone who’s done a better job of politicizing the FBI than he [Comey] has in the last 36 to 48 hours.”
Being Director of the FBI puts you among the elite of the elite.
There are only a handful of positions in law enforcement that hold the clout and power as the Director of the FBI.
And James Comey flat out abused that power.
Rep. Gowdy is clearly upset at what Comey has revealed in his book, stating, “That is beneath the dignity of the offices that he held.”
Not only has Comey politicized his former office and agency, but some of the shots he takes at President Trump are just childish.
Reading them, it is clear Comey did not only dislike Trump, but wanted to take him down from the outset.
Comey made fun of Trump’s physical appearance.
In one passage, Comey says Trump has “bright white half-moons” around his eyes.
Comey said he thought the marks came from tanning goggles.
One of Gowdy’s concerns is Comey possibly revealed classified information within the pages of his book.
Gowdy was unsure if the book was vetted by any of our intelligence agencies.
Overall, Representative Gowdy almost seemed ashamed that the office of the FBI is even being associated with this book.
“But the writing of the book in general and then some things that he’s talking about are just frankly beneath the dignity of some really important offices he once held,” Gowdy stated.
While not having seen the entire book, the excerpts read appear more of a Democrat hit piece against Trump than a dignified book written by a former Director.
Comey may get his 15 minutes of fame from the book, but he has also exposed himself in the process.
