Former Congressman Trey Gowdy was often critical of Democrats while in office, but now the gloves are really off.
Gowdy stated the behavior and continued accusations by Democrats against President Donald Trump are “disheartening.”
The Presumption of Innocence
Trey Gowdy expects big things from our lawmakers. Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell are former prosecutors, just like Gowdy. They should know people in this country are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Schiff and Swalwell have apparently forgotten that, as both have talked as though Trump’s guilt in the collusion investigation was a foregone conclusion. As we now know, they were both wrong, yet they continue to disparage the president with every spoken word.
On this, Gowdy stated, “Trump is now presumed guilty and that is the sad part to me.”
“Two former prosecutors are willing to put their entire backgrounds on hold because they simply do not like the President,” he added.
The official release of the special counsel’s report to the Attorney General has already taken place.
Now, we only await Barr’s update to both the House and Senate as well as whether he will release the report to the American people.
The fact Mueller has not announced any other indictments has led experts to believe the report finds no evidence of wrongdoing by Trump or his campaign in the election.
Still, though, Democrats continue to pull at threads in the continued effort to take down Trump.
When it was announced Mueller had delivered the report to A.G. Barr, Sen. Chuck Schumer stated he would accept nothing less than the full report, as well as all supporting documentation, to be released in full to the public. Just looking at Schumer’s face, though, you could see the defeat.
Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Schumer, etc. are all going to owe Trump one hell of an apology, but Trump will not likely spend very much time waiting for it, because we all know Democrats are simply incapable of apologizing for anything these days.
