President Joe Biden’s Afghanistan blunder took a devastating turn when a number of U.S. service members were killed while guarding Hamid Karzai International Airport.
Some of the parents of the deceased U.S. troops, who have been identified over the past several days, are expressing their outrage at how Biden handled the Afghanistan situation, with one Gold Star mother slamming Biden as a “dementia ridden piece of crap” in a recent radio interview, the Daily Mail reported.
“My son is gone, and I just want all you Democrats who cheated in the election, or who voted for him legitimately, you just killed my son,” the grieving mother said during the interview.
During a call-in interview on SiriusXM’s The Wilkow Majority show, Kathy McCollum, the mother of deceased U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, held nothing back as she excoriated the Biden administration and top military commanders for allowing the circumstances for her young son to lose his life.
“My son was one of the Marines that died yesterday,” McCollum said. “I woke up at four’o’clock this morning to Marines at my door telling me my son was dead.”
“[He was] getting ready to come home from freaking Jordan to be with his wife to watch the birth of his son,” McCollum added. “And that sackless, dementia-ridden piece of crap just sent my son to die.”
As The Daily Beast noted, Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, whose wife is expecting a child in three weeks, was described by his father, Jim McCollum, as “the most patriotic kid.”
“The right from wrong and being on the side of right—that kind of drove him in. I couldn’t have been more proud,” the father added.
Parents vent anger
Kathy McCollum wasn’t the only Gold Star parent to question the circumstances that led to the deaths of at least 13 U.S. service members in Kabul last week, as Steve Nikoui, father of deceased U.S. Marine Kareem Nikoui, vented his anger at the administration as well, in a separate Daily Beast report.
“They sent my son over there as a paper pusher and then had the Taliban outside providing security,” said Steve Nikoui. “I blame my own military leaders… Biden turned his back on him. That’s it.”
He added that one doesn’t have to be a military analyst to realize that the circumstances on the ground in Kabul were a grave security threat to U.S. troops at the Kabul airport.
“It was just basically so chaotic and not really planned out. Now, I’m a carpenter and even I could spot that with my untrained military eye,” he told Fox News host Tucker Carlson, according to the New York Post.
