Giuliani suggests Nancy Pelosi’s family gained wealth through corrupt means

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City who now serves as a personal attorney to President Donald Trump, has spent some time in Ukraine and other European nations recently, gathering evidence of alleged wrongdoing and unethical behavior by some of the president’s staunchest critics. And now, he’s out for blood.

In a tweet posted on Friday, Giuliani took aim at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, ripping the California Democrat for her delay in forwarding the House’s articles of impeachment against Trump to the Senate and strongly implying that corruption is behind the speaker’s family’s great wealth, according to BizPacReview.

“Corrupt career politicians”

It was on Friday evening that Giuliani posted his scathing rebuke of Nancy Pelosi. “If Pelosi believes [President Trump] must be removed, why delay?” the lawyer asked.

Giuliani went on to slam “phony” and “corrupt career politicians” like Pelosi, who Giuliani accused of destroying “our nation.”

America was “built on laws, NOT a craven desire for power [and] wealth,” Giuliani insisted before turning again to political elites like Pelosi, whose family only came into wealth after the House speaker became a congresswoman.

“Look at their families [and] see the millions they have made selling their public offices!” Giuliani concluded.

“Crazy Nancy”

It didn’t take long for President Trump to get in on the action. On Friday, he retweeted a video shared by an anonymous supporter accusing Pelosi, as well as former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, of having ties to Ukraine.

“Wow Crazy Nancy, what’s going on?” the president wrote. “This is big stuff!”

The video included a brief report from One America News Network (OAN) that strongly suggested — citing video evidence — that Pelosi’s son may be involved in a Ukrainian corruption scandal of his own.

That report documented a visit to Ukraine in 2017 by both Nancy Pelosi and her son, Paul Jr., during which the congresswoman’s son was openly promoting a Ukrainian energy company known as Viscoil and a related affiliate known as NRGLab, two companies that he admitted to serving on the executive board of.

To be fair, the Daily Wire reported that the video has been deemed “sketchy,” and a number of prominent liberal-leaning fact-checker organizations — such as FactCheck.org, PolitiFact, and Snopes — have all summarily dismissed the claims about Paul Pelosi, Jr. as being false.

But with everything we’ve learned about Pelosi and her Democrat comrades so far, it’s hard to just shrug these allegations off. Perhaps it’s time to open another investigation in Washington — and not into President Trump this time.
