Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera stands behind Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: ‘I feel pride in her’

Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera has always had a soft spot for liberals, but this is just flat out nuts.

During a recent panel discussion, Rivera confessed of his “homegirl” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “I feel pride in her.”

Indeed, Rivera says he’s proud of the New York Democrat, who introduced the flop Green New Deal earlier this year.

She’s Me…

How can anyone in their right mind get behind the radical ideas of AOC? According to Rivera, it’s because the young congresswoman very much reminds himself of how he was when he was young and just starting out.

“She’s me at the age of 26, when you have long hair and your mustache is out to here and you want to solve everything,” he said.

Even though Rivera was getting ridiculed by his co-panelists, he stood firm in his support of Ocasio-Cortez.

But, eventually, Rivera took things too far — as he often does.

He asked Sean Hannity: “What if it was a young Irish kid who came from your neighborhood and he got elected against all odds? You would love it, too!”

For his part, Hannity immediately accused Rivera of playing identity politics.

Far-Fetched Ideas

But even Rivera couldn’t sidestep AOC’s platform. He had to admit that her ideas are simply not workable.

“The Democrats will die as a result of their own philosophical misguided pursuit of these sophomoric goals,” he said.

Meanwhile, AOC has been given free rein by Nancy Pelosi, a decision the House Speaker will no doubt regret.

Along with AOC, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is also having a negative impact on the party.

Nobody will deny the Democratic Party needed new blood in D.C., but it appears that voters have chosen very badly.

The good news for conservatives, though, is that both Omar and Ocasio-Cortez are putting the extremism of the Dems in the spotlight, which poises President Donald Trump for a victory in 2020.
