Sadly, one of our former presidents finds himself in health trouble again.
After only having arrived in Maine a few days ago, former President George H.W. Bush was rushed to the hospital early Sunday.
It would appear as though the former president may have pushed himself a bit far after the death of his wife.
President Bush was clearly and understandably devastated after the death of his wife.
After that ordeal, he was hospitalized for a blood infection.
Most expected him to stay home and recover after his release, but that is not Mr. Bush.
Instead, he made the long journey to Maine, where the family typically spends its summers.
While the former president seemed in good spirits after the trip, it took a toll on him.
News broke early Sunday that Bush had been hospitalized again.
This time for fatigue and low blood pressure.
A spokesman for Mr. Bush stated he is “awake and alert, and not in any discomfort.”
Longest Living President
All eyes will no doubt be on Bush, as he continues to struggle with his health.
Bush overtook Gerald Ford as the longest living president in the history of our country this year.
Ford passed away in December 2006 at the age of 93 years and 165 days.
George H.W. Bush will turn 94 on June 12, already having surpassed Ford.
Our thoughts are with the former president for a speedy recovery, so he can celebrate many more birthdays.
