George Conway withdraws from anti-Trump Lincoln Project

The Conway family is stepping out of the limelight and hoping to mend some broken fences.

Around the same time that Kellyanne Conway was resigning her role as a White House adviser, her husband, outspoken Trump critic George Conway, announced that he is withdrawing from the anti-Trump Lincoln Project to spend more time with his family. He also announced that he would be taking a break from Twitter.

Stepping down

Sunday night was a big night for the Conway family.

Early Sunday evening, the newswire started to blow up with reports that Kellyanne Conway was resigning.

Kellyanne has been a fearless warrior for Trump from Day One, but he is going to have to try to win re-election without her.

In her resignation letter, Conway cited the current pandemic, homeschooling, and the need to spend more time with her family as her reasons for leaving the administration.

At the same time she was telling Trump she was out, George Conway announced on Twitter that he was also taking a step back…

Family drama

The saga of the Conway family is well known. Even though Kellyanne was working as a top official in the Trump administration, George has blasted the president and his administration regularly.

He also co-founded the Lincoln Project, a super PAC filled with Republicans who want to stop Trump from being re-elected in November.

To make things even more awkward, the Conways’ 15-year-old daughter, Claudia, has been regularly criticizing both her parents and the Trump administration on Twitter and TikTok. Claudia posted on Twitter Saturday night that she is “officially” seeking emancipation … leading many to wonder whether that was the final straw for her parents.

We thank Kellyanne for her service, and wish her the best in her family life.
