Kellyanne Conway exposes Michelle Obama

 February 18, 2024

Kellyanne Conway recently took aim at former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Conway - a former Trump administration adviser - did so during an appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria.

Conway's appearance comes amid speculation that President Joe Biden might drop out of the presidential election race due to concerns about his cognitive abilities - and, thus, concerns about his viability as a presidential candidate.

Michelle Obama is a name that frequently comes up in discussions about who could replace Biden. While many seem to think that this would be a good idea for the Democrats, Conway disagrees.

"What has she done?"

Conway, during her Fox Business appearance, essentially argued that Obama would not be a good replacement for Biden because she does not have the resume needed to run the country.

"What has she won? What has she done? I can respect her as a first lady or a great mother or great daughter for having her mother in that White House with them but what has she done in the seven years since they've left the White House?" Conway asked.

Conway, obviously, believes that the answer to all of these questions is "nothing."

Conway went on to argue that the "Obama" last name would be "a non-starter."

"We can't just say 'Oh, this is somebody who has the Obama name, Barack Obama will really be running the country, let's go,' I think that's a non-starter," Conway said.

Background

Concerns about Biden's cognitive abilities only seem to be growing as the 2024 general election draws near. Biden and the White House have been particularly hurt by the recent report released by Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Hur decided not to prosecute Biden for unlawfully mishandling classified materials because, in Hur's opinion, a jury would be unlikely to find Biden guilty. And, a jury would be unlikely to find Biden guilty, according to Hur, because he is "a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."

Biden and the White House have been doing their best to fight back against this report, but these efforts have been undermined by Biden's public appearances. Immediately after Hur's report was released, for example, Biden mixed up Egypt and Mexico, despite claiming that his "memory is fine."

Hur's report has served to reignite Biden replacement talk. Since the release of Hur's report, several left-leaning outlets published articles arguing that it is time for Biden to ride off into the sunset.

The big question, though, is: "If not Biden, then who?" As Conway noted during her Fox Business appearance, the Democrats have a "thin bench" these days. Obama, herself, has claimed that she has no interest in running.
