Tulsi Gabbard reveals why she voted ‘present’ on Trump’s impeachment

When the impeachment vote was taken, there was only one Democrat to stand up to the circus: Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI).

Rather than vote in favor of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s biased process, Gabbard voted “present.” She came clean afterward about why she chose to buck the trend, saying, according to The Blaze: “I could not in good conscience vote either yes or no.”

The partisan process

Gabbard isn’t the only Democrat who didn’t vote for impeachment, but she’s the only one who didn’t show her hand before the actual vote was taken — and she’s the only one that voted “present.”

Gabbard did not vote against the impeachment because she believes that Trump did do something wrong. She has no proof, but the evidence presented did not convince her to sway in either direction.

“After doing my due diligence in reviewing the 658-page impeachment report, I came to the conclusion that I could not in good conscience vote either yes or no,” she explained. “I am standing in the center and have decided to vote Present. I could not in good conscience vote against impeachment because I believe President Trump is guilty of wrongdoing.”

She went on: “I also could not in good conscience vote for impeachment because removal of a sitting President must not be the culmination of a partisan process, fueled by tribal animosities that have so gravely divided our country.”

The fact that Gabbard dares callout leadership in the party for conducting a biased hearing…well, that did not go over very well with the establishment. There simply is no room in the Democratic Party for dissent anymore, and the reaction to Gabbard’s decision is a prime example of the herd mentality of the left.

The immediate backlash

Virtually every liberal pundit on TV gave Gabbard a tongue lashing, and more than a few were happy to express their horror over her vote on Twitter. According to her detractors, Gabbard is either a Republican in disguise, a Russian agent, or pandering to “white,” “bitter” men.

It never ceases to amaze how the party of inclusion and tolerance will turn on its own in a heartbeat when they dare to speak their own mind.

Mind you, Gabbard still believes that Trump did something wrong. She simply chose not to vote for impeachment because there was a lack of evidence, something that everyone with a conscience in the Democratic Party should have done as well.

However, because Gabbard didn’t fall in line with the radical leftists in the party, she’s being “canceled.” Democrats today do not want a democratic republic; they want a dictatorship — and this impeachment has made that plain for all to see.
