Democrat Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard rumored to be considering 2020 presidential run

The Democrat field for president is apparently about to get another addition.

According to reports, Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI) is said to be considering throwing her name into the hat for president.

Rumors Run Rampant

While Gabbard has not said anything one way or another, her actions have pundits spinning a yarn about a presidential campaign.

Reports are flying around Washington that Gabbard is recruiting speechwriters and digital campaign staff.

What has them talking, though, is the timeline that is being targeted, which appears to be the 2020 election cycle.

Gabbard is currently in the midst of a re-election campaign, so her staff would not comment on rumors.

Rania Batrice, one of Gabbard’s advisers, stated: “I think everybody is focused on 2018, but we will see what happens after that.”

Worrisome Candidate

Gabbard is someone who conservatives need to take very seriously.

A woman on the ticket would be a strong selling point for Democrats, and Gabbard is just as likely as anyone in a race against Trump.

In fact, many pundits believe the only real chance the Democrats have in 2020 is to run out a woman — well, someone other than Hillary Clinton — to go up against Trump.

Gabbard is also Hindu, which could present some interesting fodder during the campaign and more than a few opportunities for Trump to say something he should not.

In addition to all of that, Gabbard hails from a state that has vehemently opposed Trump’s immigration stance and travel bans.

While a military veteran, she is adamantly opposed to the military campaigns specifically in Syria as well as within the Middle East as a whole.

In other words, she is — in every way, shape, and form — the anti-Trump.

People may not know her name now, but if she does, in fact, run, she may be the biggest threat in the field to Trump winning a second term.
