Fox News host slams Jill Biden for letting ‘mentally frail’ husband run for the White House

President Joe Biden is facing a new round of intense criticism from all corners over his botched U.S. troop withdrawal in Afghanistan, including renewed questions about his overall fitness and cognitive health.

According to The Daily Wire, Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy held nothing back as she excoriated Biden for his gross mishandling of the foreign policy disaster in Afghanistan, adding that she faults his wife, Jill Biden, for letting her “mentally frail” husband run for office in the first place.

Blame it on Jill

Campos-Duffy was especially critical of Jill Biden, saying the first lady should have been the first person to prevent her aging husband from the rigors of not only running for the White House, but leading it as well.

“But when you look at what’s hurting America, when you look at this lack of leadership, and you wonder, who are the people responsible for putting someone this incompetent and frankly, this, you know, mentally frail, in this position?” Campos-Duffy said.

While pointing out that the media and some other major Democratic operatives were partially at fault for allowing Joe Biden to go all the way, she dialed in on Jill Biden.

“I’m sorry, as a political spouse, I can’t help but look at Jill Biden,” Campos-Duffy said, referencing her marriage to former Wisconsin Republican lawmaker Sean Duffy.

Campos-Duffy added: “No one knew better his state of mind than Jill, Dr. Jill Biden. And if you ask me, the most patriotic thing Jill Biden could have done was tell her husband, to love her husband, and not let him run in this mental state that he’s in. I think she failed the country as well.”

Immediate backlash

Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for defenders of the first lady to strike back at Campos-Duffy for her remarks.

Jill Biden’s press secretary, Michael LaRosa, called the Fox News host’s comments “disgusting,” before demanding that Campos-Duffy issue an apology for her remarks about both the president and his wife, The Hill reports.

“This is disgusting. @RCamposDuffy and @FoxNews know better. They can do better and their viewers deserve better. I hope they’ll apologize to the First Lady and leave this kind of talk in the where it belongs,” LaRosa tweeted Monday.

Others, like Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), a former White House physician, have repeatedly called Biden’s cognitive health into question, demanding that the president take the same cognitive assessment that his successors did.

As of this writing, Campos-Duffy has not issued an apology to either Jill or Joe Biden, and one wouldn’t be advised to hold one’s breath in anticipation of that happening.
