Americans are beginning to trust liberal mainstream media outlets less and less every day.
This is good news for Fox News, though, as ratings have skyrocketed during the coronavirus crisis, surpassing the network’s all-time highs.
America trusts Fox
Progressives can cry all they want about their perception of Fox as a biased network, but the reality of the ratings is that by and large, more Americans trust Fox News than any other cable news network on air.
The first quarter of this year, which has been jammed mostly with coronavirus coverage, has nothing but wins stacked up for Fox News.
Fox reported that the network set an all-time high with an average viewership of 1.9 million total day viewers. Moreover, a total of 4.4 million viewers tuned in to Fox News to watch President Trump’s recent mid-day town hall.
In the key 25–54 age demographic, Fox had its highest ratings since the fourth quarter of 2016. Of the top 15 cable news network shows, Fox News dominated, earning 13 of the spots, including every spot in the top five, the network reported.
The highest-rated non-Fox News show was The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, which finished at number six. CNN’s top show was The Lead with Jake Tapper, which came in at 22nd place, behind more than a dozen Fox News shows and seven MSNBC shows.
The domination by Fox was so convincing, in fact, that the network has almost as many viewers as MSNBC and CNN combined, with 2.1 million Fox News viewers in March to MSNBC’s 1.3 million and CNN’s 1.2 million.
It is not helping matters for these other mainstream networks that they are regularly caught touting bogus narratives.
CNN has taken things a step further by limiting its coverage of the daily coronavirus task force updates in an attempt to block Americans from hearing directly from President Trump.
On Tuesday, the network was embarrassed by that decision, having to interrupt programming to join the update late when White House coronavirus task force coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx was presenting key information regarding the projected curve of the coronavirus here in the U.S.
The more these other networks expose their partisan hatred of President Trump, the better it is for Fox News.
