It’s becoming increasingly difficult for President Joe Biden’s allies in the mainstream media to downplay the 78-year-old president’s repeated slips, gaffes, and his seemingly frequent episodes of general confusion.
According to the Daily Caller, there’s a growing number of politicians — including Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), a former White House physician — calling for Biden to take a cognitive test, much like former Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama underwent, to prove to the American public that he’s still able to function as the leader of the free world.
“We need to get it done”
While Jackson and others have been criticized for suggesting Biden undergo a cognitive abilities test, many of the same people behind that criticism once supported a call for Trump to undergo a similar test during his time in the White House — a point Jackson made clear.
“The far left and the mainstream media were demanding that be the new standard for anybody who’s going to lead our country and be our commander-in-chief and our head of state,” Jackson said.
“I’m just saying I agree with them at this point — we need to get it done,” he added.
Jackson tweeted about his call for the test, adding that many in the mainstream media criticized Trump after he completed the test with claims that the test was too easy. Jackson suggested he’d be perfectly fine with Biden taking the same “easy” test, which according to the Texas lawmaker, should be a piece of cake for the current president.
When I was President Trump’s White House physician, the media ATTACKED him because they falsely claimed the cognitive exam he ACED was “too easy.” Well, if it’s SO EASY like the media said, why won’t Biden take the same test and release the results? Cognitively impaired! pic.twitter.com/OrNjtxbib2

What’s in the test?
As Jackson noted, the cognitive test he administered to Trump at the beginning of his second year isn’t a measure of intelligence, rather, it’s a measure of how well the aging president is fairing on the mental front. The test measures for signs of dementia and other cognitive diseases that could impair a person’s judgment and ability to lead.
The former White House physician has repeatedly expressed concerns over Biden’s cognitive state, recently saying that one doesn’t need to hold a medical degree to assess that something is definitely wrong.
“I think he’s demonstrating every single day that there is something going on,” Jackson said of Biden in a recent Fox News interview.
“You don’t need to be a physician to look at this behavior and see there’s something concerning happening,” Jackson added.
While it’s unlikely that Biden or his handlers will submit to demands from a pro-Trump, Republican Texas congressman, Jackson shares the view of many that Biden’s cognitive health may be steadily declining. If Americans can deduce that from the president’s limited time in front of a television screen, there’s no telling how serious the situation might be behind the curtain.
