120+ former military officers warn of ‘peril’ associated with Biden’s mental health

Since the early days of his campaign, President Joe Biden attracted criticism from those who felt he was unfit to hold office.

Now, more than 120 retired military officers are warning Americans that the nation potentially faces “deep peril” with Biden in the White House.

“A fight for our survival”

According to The Blaze, a letter released by the group Flag OFficers 4 America cited the president’s “mental condition” and status as the oldest commander in chief in the nation’s history as factors that could endanger the entire nation. At 78, Biden’s age has been at the center of speculation that he is experiencing some form of cognitive decline.

Amid the pressures of his office, Biden has continued to give many critics cause for alarm as he has apparently struggled to communicate effectively with the American people.

“Our Nation is in deep peril,” the letter begins. “We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty.”

The group went on to assert that the situation stands to affect virtually every aspect of American life.

“The mental and physical condition of the Commander in Chief cannot be ignored,” the writers claimed. “He must be able to quickly make accurate national security decisions involving life and limb anywhere, day or night.”

“An unquestionable chain of command”

Citing inquiries by fellow Democrats about Biden’s access to sensitive nuclear codes, the military officers insisted that the nation “must always have an unquestionable chain of command.”

Some Democratic leaders have explored various scenarios suggesting that the president is not in a position to make a competent decision if the U.S. is the target of a nuclear attack.

For his part, former President Donald Trump warned voters that Biden lacked the mental acuity to serve as president — and it seems his warnings have aged well.

If Republicans regain a majority on Capitol Hill after next year’s midterm elections, there are several options they could take toward getting Biden out of office.

Of course, that would almost assuredly mean two years of Vice President Kamala Harris in the Oval Office. While she might be ideologically unpalatable for conservatives, at least she is widely seen as mentally capable.
