Report: Nearly 4 dozen Afghan evacuees flagged by US officials for ‘suspected associations with terrorists’

President Joe Biden’s administration brought into the U.S. from Afghanistan at least 44 people who were later “flagged for suspected associations with terrorists,” according to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents obtained by The Washington Post

Of the flagged evacuees, 13 are in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody while more vetting is done, 15 are in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody to be transported to other countries deemed safe, and another 15 have been released into the U.S., according to the Post.

Some of the flagged evacuees appeared to be associated with known terrorists, while others were said to have troubling data on their phones or other electronic devices that raised concerns.

Missing paperwork

The Biden administration has been flying about 2,300 Afghans to the U.S. each day for the past 21 days, Breitbart reports. According to the Post, some 60,000 evacuees “have arrived on U.S. soil since Aug. 17.”

The evacuees are coming into Philadelphia Airport and Dulles Airport in Virginia, near Washington, D.C.

NPR reported that many of them are coming into the country with “no paperwork” or with only scraps of paper to show their identity, posing an obvious security risk.

Additionally, the AP reported that some evacuees have been caught lying about their identities in an effort to get into the U.S., and some have even destroyed their passports.

Currently, Afghan evacuees who are initially flagged for potential ties to terrorism are being sent to Kosovo, where they could be held for over a year as they’re vetted by U.S. officials, the AP said.

Red flags galore

According to Breitbart, Pentagon officials have also said that up to 100 of the 7,000 Afghans being considered for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) seeking permanent resettlement in the U.S. are actually “potential matches to intelligence agency watch lists.”

With this many red flags in place, it seems likely that one or more terrorists could slip through the DHS vetting process and end up resettled in the U.S., where great harm could be done.

Is this just not on Biden’s radar? Or are we living with a White House that simply doesn’t care about American lives?

The question remains.
