Rep. Andy Biggs: FISA abuse report delay is due to broadening investigation

The nation is waiting to see the Inspector General (IG) report on the alleged abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) — but the report has been significantly delayed, and there hasn’t been an official reason given yet.

However, according to many experts, the delay may be because Attorney General Bill Barr’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has extended the scope of the investigation, which is very bad news for Democrats.

Broadening the probe

On Monday, House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) revealed why he thinks the IG report is being delayed.

“I’m concerned for people like [FBI’s Andrew] McCabe, [Ex-FBI head James] Comey, even Rod Rosenstein… Sally Yates — anybody who signed off on one of those FISA warrant applications,” Biggs said, according to Fox News.

He went on: “I believe they’re culpable in some way.”

Another reason Biggs believes this report is being delayed because the information is still trickling in that could possibly influence this report.

“The reason I think this got delayed so very much is, remember what [Inspector General Michael] Horowitz did [prior to] the last report, which gave us people like [Peter] Strzok and [Lisa] Page — he kept getting whistleblower information at the last minute,” Biggs said.

Criminal investigation

The fact that this probe has been reclassified as a criminal investigation shows that it’s likely some corruption was found.

Considering that the entire investigation was keyed on FISA warrants, it is a fairly safe assumption that this corruption and possible criminal activity happened at the very highest levels of our law enforcement and intelligence communities.

Among those expected to be implicated in this are Obama officials James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper. Of those three, Comey is the one at most risk. After all, it was Comey that reportedly signed the FISA warrants and used the Steele dossier to support the warrant.

It was also reported that Comey withheld exculpatory evidence that could have possibly negated the FISA warrant request outright.

The report by the IG is now expected to come out around Thanksgiving — and when it does come out, we can expect the very foundation of the Democratic Party to be completely rocked.
