Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has bitten into the White House whistleblower story, and she is ready to run with it.
She wants a report released to lawmakers immediately, according to The Hill. The only issue? Feinstein may not be aware that the whistleblower’s story is unfounded.
Pressing the Issue
Feinstein, instead of pressing the issue, needs to wait for the facts to come out.
However, she’s jumped on the bandwagon, calling for the White House to release the whistleblower report.
The Hill reports that “Feinstein sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr on Friday requesting that the whistleblower complaint be made available to the ‘relevant Committees of Congress’ as soon as possible.”
She went on: “If media reports are correct that President Trump delayed military aid appropriated by Congress in order to get Ukraine to investigate a political opponent, it’s difficult not to see that as an abuse of presidential authority, plain and simple.”
However, that’s a big “if.” As details pour in, it seems that media reports are not correct. At this point, it looks like more of the same fake news we have seen so much of.
Whistleblower’s Story is Hearsay
According to the Wall Street Journal, the whistleblower originally reported that Trump was pressuring Ukraine’s head of state to investigate Hunter Biden, the son of Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden. Biden stands a very good chance of being Trump’s opponent in the presidential election next year.
Obviously, the whistleblower felt that Trump was in the wrong to dig up dirt from a foreign power, leading to the allegations. But as it turns out, the whistleblower had no direct knowledge of what was said, Breitbart reports.
Instead, it seems the whistleblower had done his own investigating and picked up things from other more figures that supposedly had direct knowledge of the goings-on.
So now what we have is just another unfounded allegation, as no one has come forward with actual proof that Trump said any of what is alleged.
The story is more hearsay meant to damage the president — more of the same leaks that have come from the White House almost daily since the start of Trump’s presidency. When will it end?
