Possible Democrat presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke has taken to sensationalistic tactics to garner support to fight Trump’s immigration policies.
According to O’Rourke, reinforcing the border is leading to the death of more immigrants. “There’s a real mortal consequence to these walls. They’re not just ugly,” O’Rourke said during a town hall event in El Paso Friday. “They cause death and human suffering.”
Rising Death Toll
O’Rourke claims that border walls built in the early 2000s made it more difficult for undocumented immigrants to get into the country, forcing them to take a longer, more strenuous and difficult route through the desert to gain access.
“The number of people dying at the U.S.-Mexico border in some years has grown,” O’Rourke said. “In some years has grown because it’s connected to that wall that we have already built that pushes people who are at their most desperate and vulnerable to ever-more inhospitable stretches of the Chihuahua Desert.”
“The wall in this area was built in 2006, 2007, and 2008,” he told the El Paso audience. “So even though total crossing attempts had decreased, the number of deaths went up.”
Notice, he says nothing about these immigrants respecting our laws and processes, just the actual wall.
Let Me Ask You…
I would have to challenge O’Rourke with the following questions:
Is entering the country illegally a crime?
Are you, in fact, asking for amnesty for every individual that breaks those laws?
Are those laws not in place to protect our environment and economy?
If it is okay for people to break the law to enter this country, is it okay for those that live here and that are struggling to murder and steal to get the same “better life” these undocumented immigrants are chasing?
Where exactly do you draw the line as to what is legal or not when someone wants a better life?
How much respect will someone have for our laws if they are breaking the law to enter the country in the first place?
Like most Democrat politicians these days, O’Rourke is more concerned about citizens breaking the law rather than the people that put him into office.
It is a disturbing narrative that continues and will eventually ruin our country.
Nobody is telling immigrants to stop coming to America, but they MUST follow the laws in place.
Somehow, that point continues to get past Democrats… or they simply do not care.
