Elderly man is beat to death by teens

New video footage from the police department of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, shows a group of teenagers beating an elderly man to death with a traffic cone, Fox News reports

If that’s not disturbing enough, the video also shows the teens smiling and laughing throughout the attack.

The incident took place near the 2100 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue around 3 a.m. on June 14. On the one side was a group of seven teenagers, and, on the other was the victim, who has been identified as 73-year-old James Lambert.

The Philadelphia Police Department released video footage of the incident on Friday.

The attack

The video starts off with the group of teenagers pursuing the elderly Lambert. What led to this encounter remains unclear.

Lambert can be seen trying to walk away from the teenagers. The teenagers, however, can be seen in the video following the fleeing Lambert across the street. Then, one of the males in the group takes a traffic cone and, from behind, strikes Lambert with it.

The video shows that the 73-year-old Lambert is knocked to the ground by the blow. The group of teenagers, though, were not satisfied. A female goes over to the traffic cone, picks it up, and hits Lambert with it again.

The video next shows Lambert attempting to get up and flee. But, the same girl strikes Lambert with the cone again. The teenagers then take off.

As this was all happening, most of the teens were smiling and laughing, although one girl is seen holding her hands over her mouth in shock at what is going on.

The aftermath

Following the incident, Lambert was taken to the hospital. He ended up succumbing to his injuries the following day.

The teens, however, remain at large. The police department has yet to arrest any of the teens involved in the incident. All of the teens, however, are wanted by the police.

The Philadelphia Police Department is offering a $20,000 reward for any information on the individuals involved in the attack. The suspects are being described as “four Black males and three Black females who appear to be in their early to mid-teens.”
